The Blacksmith Collection features 5 of From The Anvil's most traditional finishes. Each Blacksmith product is forged from mild steel to create hardware that's as beautiful as it is durable. Learn more about each Blacksmith finish below...

Black

From The Anvil's Black finish has a subtle shine which offers a bold contrast against matt materials like timber and stone. Often, this finish is used in cottage renovations and countryside dwellings.

Select a warm colour palette to balance out the darkness of your Black hardware - shades of pink, yellow, and cream are all excellent choices.

Matt Black

Matt Black is arguably the most modern Blacksmith finish. It boasts a subtle black patina which emphasises the product's clean silhouette and looks fantastic in contemporary and industrial interiors alike.

Pair with pale tones like white, blue or pink to allow the Matt Black to pop, or opt for red brick or grey stone to complete the industrial look.

Beeswax

A Beeswax finish is the most authentic choice for steel. After forging, the colours left in the metal range from blue to deep red ochre and are preserved by a protective layer of beeswax. This creates a soft, matt finish which adds a rich texture to the products.

Beeswax hardware looks best in rustic homes filled with natural materials such as oak, slate, and wicker. Muted colours, including yellow, baby blue, and beige will help accentuate this finish.

External Beeswax

Visually, this finish is indistinguishable from Beeswax but it's dipped in anti-corrosive beeswax which adds further protection to the metal, making it suitable for use externally. This finish can be styled in a similar way to Beeswax hardware.

Pewter Patina

From The Anvil's Pewter hardware is a fine example of how their unique manufacturing techniques can add further detail to the natural charm of a metal. The rich, characterful appearance of Pewter sits well in rustic homes, but can also offer a contemporary style choice in more modern interiors.

Accentuate your Pewter hardware with dark-grained wood or painted timber, opting for colours that highlight the finish.
