Will your letterplates fit in the existing opening in my door?

The size and shape of letterplates can greatly between manufacturers. The best way to figure out if a letterplate will fit your existing hole is by measuring it and comparing these figures to the product's size as stated online.

If your existing opening is smaller than our letterplates, you can simply enlarge it. If you're not confident with DIY work like this, we recommend consulting an expert.

If your existing opening is larger than our letterplates, ask your joiner about your options.

What's the maximum door thickness I can fit my letterplate on>

This depends on the letterplate.

With our standard letterplates, the maximum door thickness is as follows:
- 74mm (Large & Small Pewter, Black, & Beeswax)
- 65mm (Large & Small Brass, Bronze, Chrome, Nickel, & Stainless Steel)

For our more decorative designs, the maximum door thickness is as follows:
- 60mm (Postal)
- 60mm (Art Deco)

For our Traditional Letterbox, a door thickness between 42-72mm is required.

Are your letterboxes draught-resistant?

While our letterboxes aren't specifically fitted with draught exclusion seals, their springs are very strong and will greatly limit draughts. The more snug the product is fit, the greater the draught prevention.

You can easily add a letterplate cover to further limit draughts, or opt for complete draught-resistance by chooding our Traditional letterbox, equipped with a tunnel and brushed designed to insulate the door. This creates a tight seal which is both draught- and water-proof.
