Can I use a centre door knob as a functioning door handle?

In theory, yes. However, we wouldn’t recommend it as our centre door knobs are large and very heavy. This would put a huge strain on even the most heavy-duty latch.
Please note, our centre door knobs aren’t supplied with a grub screw to locate and lock the spindle into position which will make it difficult to use them as a functioning door knob.
How are your centre door knobs sold?

Our centre door knobs are sold in singles as they're typically only fitted to one side of the door. Each centre door knob is provided with an M8 x 110mm stainless steel threaded bolt for bolt-through fixing.
Are your centre door knobs surface-fixed or bolt-through?

Due to the weight of our centre door knobs, they are supplied with bolt-through fixings. This offers a more secure fitting than surface-fixing.
