Design Inspiration

As the name suggests, the Art Deco collection is heavily influenced by the Art Deco era; a period that originated in France and peaked during the 1920/30s. This point in time was synonymous with glamour and luxury.

The Art Deco period was full of rich colours and bold geometric shapes. The influence of this style spread all across the world as people tried to emanate the look of oppulence and wealth.

From The Anvil's Art Deco collection was created as an ode to the Art Deco period, taking artistic inspiration from its ornate details and striking design.

The Art Deco collection utilises sleek forms whilst narrowly bordering maximalism. When choosing complementary colours, opt for rich tones like deep greens, navy blues, burgundies and black. Art Deco design incorporates busy patterns, particularly in panelled walls and geometric accents. Counterbalance these with plain soft furnishings is sumptuous fabrics such as velvet and silk.
