You may have noticed that some window handles are "handed", meaning they're available as both left and right-handed. But how do you know which hand you need?

The explanation is actually quite simple.

Right-handed window handles move anti-clockwise with the tail facing away from the frame. This means you pull it upwards to the right to open the window, and downwards to the left to close the window.

Left-handed window handles move clockwise with the tail facing away from the frame. This means you pull it upwards to the left to open the window and downwards to the right to close the window.
