Learn how to fit a concealed escutcheon in this easy-to-follow guide.

1. Assemble the escutcheon

Start by assembling the nugget and the baseplate so that the nugget sits in the baseplate with the countersunk screw holes facing upwards.

Drill the pilot holes in the desired position - usually the East and West position.

Take care not to drill all the way through the door as the escutcheon is only surface-fixed.

4. Secure your escutcheon

Position your baseplate over the pilot holes, ensuring that the countersunk screw holes are facing the right way up.

Once your escutcheon is in position, tighten the wood screws using a hand-held screwdriver. Ensure that the baseplate is secured tightly to the door and sits flush on the door's surface.
