Lighting Colours Inspired by Welsh Countryside

From The Anvil's ceiling pendant, cluster, and wall lights are spun from the finest quality metals to create an eye-catching statement in your home. Each light is made to order, and while they look stunning as bare metal, they can also be finished in a colour of your choosing.
In this blog, we explore the twelve Welsh countryside-inspired colours available across From The Anvil's pendant, wall lighting and cluster pendant collection.
Birch
The colour Birch is inspired by the distinctive bark of a silver birch tree. A blend between pale grey and a warm cream, this shade is incredibly versatile and adds a contemporary edge to our lighting collection.
Bluff
Bluff is named after a prominent hill in the Black Mountains of Wales called Hay Bluff which is often cast in shadow from a distance. This deep, earthy colour offers a richer alternative to grey and adds a warm touch to any room.
Dingle
Dingle draws inspiration from a wooded area in the Welsh Valleys. This deep green is natural and comforting, pairing perfectly with a Nickel or Brass interior.
Dusk
Inspired by the grey-blue shades of the Welsh sky at Dusk, this dark colour is pleasing to the eye and the perfect contrast for the warming glow of a lightbulb. When combined with a metal interior finish, this dramatic colour creates a statement in any space.

Elan Black
Named after the renowned dark skies of the Elan Valley in Mid-Wales, Elan Black is moody and elegant. Pair with a Hammered interior finish to mimic a dark night sky filled with shimmering stars.
Flock
Taking inspiration from a sheep’s wool, Flock is a sleek, pure white which adds a clean look to any room. Choose a Smooth Brass interior for a touch of luxury, or white gloss for a truly modern feel.
Heath
Inspired by the open wild terrain, Heath is an earthy green with greyish undertones. This colour is a great way to introduce a subtle hint of colour whilst maintaining a calm and relaxed interior.
Slate
Unmistakably named after the many Slate mines of Wales, this mid-grey colour complements all our metal finishes without overpowering them.
Soot
Soot takes its inspiration from Welsh coal mining heritage. This dark and versatile grey has a distinctive blue undertone which works as well in contemporary interiors as it does in traditional dwellings.
Teasel
Inspired by the dried seed heads loved by birds in winter, Teasel has a subtle warmth which pairs wonderfully with our Brass and Copper pendants.
Tump
The name Tump comes from the Welsh word for a small hill. As such, this colour is inspired by dried winter grass and looks great in rustic interiors.
Upstream
Upstream is inspired by a fast-flowing stretch of the river Wye. This zingy blue will add a bright burst of colour to any space, creating a mesmerising focal point.
We love the Welsh-inspired colours of these lights; all available across the range of From The Anvil pendant lights, wall lights and cluster pendants.
