What’s a thumbturn and how does it work?

Thumbturns are a type of lock most commonly used on bathroom doors. From the inside, turning the thumbturn operates the lock, but from in an emergency they can be opened from the outside by turning a coin in the horizontal slot. Thumbturns can be purchased separately for use with a door knob, or as part of a fixed element on our Bathroom Lever Handles.

When do I need an escutcheon?

Escutcheons are used to tidy the look of and protect your keyhole. Escutcheons with covers can also be used to minimise draughts flowing through your keyhole.

Escutcheons can be used to cover cylinders used with lever on rose door handles and door knobs with latches or deadbolts.

What is a door pull used for?

Much like an escutcheon, a door pull fits over a rim or euro cylinder to tidy up the keyhole. They have a finger pull at the bottom which allows you to pull the door shut from the outside.
